Consultant Experience

Before retirement from The Tourism Company in September 2017, Chris had been a director since its inception in 1990 undertaking tourism development and marketing consultancy. He has wide experience of preparing tourism development and marketing plans for destinations at home and abroad (Caribbean, Africa and Europe) with a particular interest in destination and visitor management and the role of development planning in that process. He has prepared destination management plans for a variety of destinations in the UK including Bath, Anglesey, Dorset, Hertfordshire, the National Forest and many others. Overseas, his work has included the Tourism Management Plan for the Cayman Islands, a marketing strategy for Ghana, tourism training in Namibia and resort developments in Kuwait and the UAE.

Chris has been involved with the Tourism Consultants' Network from its outset and is a a former Board member of the Society.

Chris now undertakes occasional work on projects of interest.
