Consultant Experience

Peter has a background in the public, private and voluntary sectors, and has worked for The National Trust, West Oxfordshire District Council and University of Derby before becoming a Consultant. Peter has, since the late 1990s, managed over 100 events and worked with over 500 businesses. Peter also works for The University of Wolverhampton as Principal Lecturer and Head of Department for Marketing, Innovation, Leisure and Enterprise and has recently worked on projects with The Heritage Motor Centre, The Holker Group, Couture Leisure, Utopia Clubs and Discover Travel and Tours. He is also a Trustee of the Kidderminster Carpet Museum (and Chair of the Operations Group) and a member of the Project Development Board for Elvaston Castle.

Peter is a partner in Edu-Eye (an online resource service supporting progression to University for schools and colleges), owns three other businesses, and promotes his photography through Peter D Robinson Photographic Art.

Peak District ICT – a business which specialises in the sale of new, refurbished and second user home and office equipment.

UK Vehicle Finders – a company specialising in sourcing vehicles and vehicle parts for a wide range of clients.

The Britain Experts – a specialist UK Tour Operator and itinerary builder.

Peter is a business mentor for Business in the Community, The New Enterprise Allowance and Virgin Startup, and is currently working with two businesses. He is the West Midlands representative for the Tourism Management Institute, a member of the Tourism Society and the Tourism Society Consultants Network and a member of the Institute for Travel and Tourism (ITT), (and working group lead for a number of areas of development).

Peter has been an external adviser for a number of public and private sector education institutions, has advised on QCF frameworks and has worked with a number of exam boards and professional bodies. He has an international publishing profile and has spoken at a number of international conferences. Peter has also taken part in television and newspaper interviews.
