If you are a Tourism Society member you can book a guest at the member rate. This applies to all elements of the conference (study tours, reception and the conference itself).

Join us in Cardiff for one or both days of this year's annual conference. The study tours and conference speakers will centre on the themes of Professionalism, leaving you Inspired to become a better leader, ready to Compete in a growing market and prepared to Regenerate to stay revelevant in an evolving industry. A mixture of panel sessions and presentations from the 14 speakers will ensure you get the most information possible during the event.

Study tours and an informal reception at the new Dr. Who Experience followed by dinner will take place on July 2nd. The conference itself will be on July 3rd. Transport connections to Cardiff are excellent, with railway, motorway and air networks allowing delegates to travel to the conference and home again on the same day if necessary.

Conference Programme and speakers

Tuesday 2nd
1100-15.00 Registration for Study tours
1300    Study Tour 4. BBC Roath Lock studios (buses will leave from City Hall at 12.30 - so please arrive 20-30 minutes before this)
1400    Study Tour 3. Wales National Museum, Cardiff (please arrive at City Hall by 1.45pm)
1500    Study Tour 1: Doctor Who Experience (please arrive at City Hall no later than 2.30pm, buses will take you over there)
1800 - 1900 Reception – Dr Who Experience (please arrive at City Hall no later than 5.30pm to catch the bus)
1915    Dinner at Cardiff Castle (it is essential that you are there by this time)

1930    Dinner at ffresh restaurant

Wednesday 3rd

Study Tours
This year we will be offering three study tours as part of the first day of the Annual Conference.

  • Doctor Who Experience
  • National Museum of Art, Cardiff
  • BBC Roath Lock studios, Cardiff

The study tours are designed to provide delegates with a unique perspective on some of the largest and most popular attractions in the Cardiff area. Each tour has a maximum capacity of 25. Delegates are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

Reception and Dinner
An informal evening reception will be held at the new Dr. Who Experience on 2nd July 2013. Dinner follows the reception and delegates will have two dinner locations to choose from. In order to accommodate the dietary needs of all delegates, you will be asked to provide any known dietary restrictions and/or allergies when booking your ticket for the dinner.

Ffresh Bar & Restaurant ( - set three course menu including half a bottle of wine - details available soon.
Cardiff Castle ‘Welsh Banquet’ ( - four-course menu including drink.

The Tourism Society has worked with Visit Car. diff to offer delegates excellent nightly rates at a number of hotels within easy reach of Cardiff City Hall.
