2012 Olympics plus...?

2012 won’t just be the year of the Olympics. For the 46 weeks of the year when the Olympic and Paralympic Games aren’t taking place it will be business as usual with other key events taking place including The Golden Jubilee. This important event will discuss what is being done to promote inbound and domestic tourism throughout the non-Olympic period of 2012. How important is it to emphasise that most of 2012 is not related to the Olympics? What is being done about it? How should operators, hoteliers, TICs, DMOs, attractions etc position themselves and what can they really expect to happen?
