Tourism Business Improvement Districts represent a way for destinations to raise revenue to be used directly for marketing and development purposes in the local area where the funding is raised. In the current climate of restricted central funding, are TBIDs the route to successful private sector funding and decision making? There are many examples in the United States where the approach has been applied - would it work in the UK?
