Dark Tourism
Current Themes, Issues & Consequences
University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)
Tuesday 27th March 2007
Dark tourism is the act of travel and visitation to sites, attractions and exhibitions which has real or recreated death, suffering or the seemingly macabre as a main theme. Indeed, the subject area has received increasing attention from academia, industry and the media alike. Consequently, in association with The Tourism Society and The Dark Tourism Forum, UCLan is proud to present a one-day conference event aimed at showcasing dark tourism current themes, issues and their consequences.
"Thank you for organising an excellent and informative conference last Tuesday. The diverse nature of the speakers and their outlook on the subject was both enlightening and, in certain cases controversial. I have never seen the six students I brought along so engaged (especially after six hours!)". Graham Jones MTS, Coleg Llandrillo
