Philip Cooke is Managing Director of the Gloucester-based Destination Marketing Group (DMG), a tourism and urban regeneration marketing, PR and corporate communications consultancy which he founded in early 2000 following an award-winning career in local authority tourism, sport and city centre management.

The DMG’s UK client list includes VisitBritain, Heart of England Tourism, South West Tourism, the London Boroughs of Brent and Southwark, a wide range of regional, county, city and district councils and tourism offices and several Business Improvement Districts.

Overseas clients include Cvent.inc and Music Contact International (USA), Tren Crucero (Ecuador), Hainan, Hunan and Sanya (China), Liberation Route Europe, Peru Rail, Sailing.hr (Croatia) and Swiss Government Enterprise.

Philip was previously Director of Tourism and City Centre Management for Gloucester City Council, during which time he won the Public Sector Manager of the Year award and Gloucester was voted Tourism Destination of the Year.

Philip is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists and writes for a range of travel industry magazines, including Conference and Meetings World, Conference News, Regeneration and Renewal and Travel Trade Gazette.

The DMG is also an International Representation Company, providing in-market support for a wide range of overseas tour operators, travel companies and tourist boards located in Latin America, Europe, the USA, India and, most recently, China and seeking to obtain more business from the UK.
