The board of Visit York is looking to recruit a Chairman to lead and drive the public/private sector tourism partnership and the growth of the visitor economy. Tourism is worth £443m annually to York and represents accommodation, attractions, events, retail and hospitality businesses.

We are looking for someone with:

• Stature and credibility to operate at all levels
• Enthusiasm and commitment to York
• Experience on Boards with diverse, multiple stakeholders
• Ideally, strong business background
• Experience of public/private partnerships useful

Specific knowledge and experience of city marketing, consumer services, SMEs and local authorities is also welcome.
The position is unremunerated.
