Who
should apply?
Anyone with a passion for tourism is welcome to join the Society. As tourism is such a diverse industry we encourage people from every sector to join, whether directly or indirectly involved in tourism. As the future will be in the hands of the young and the educators, we especially look forward to teachers, trainers and students joining.
What
are the benefits of membership?
The Society provides much more than just a networking forum. In addition to receiving the Membership Directory, journal and being able to attend events at reduced prices, you will be eligible for a variety of discounts including up to 30% off specified publications, or reduced rates for hotel rooms, car parking and car rental. What
are the different grades of membership?
The Society has one basic grade of membership, MTS (Member of the Tourism Society);students are encouraged to join and pay a lower fee until graduation and they have been working for more than three years in full time paid employment.
Progression to Fellowship, the senior membership grade, is open to those who have held membership of the Society for not less than two years and hold, or have held, a senior position of responsibility in the tourism industry and/or can demonstrate a record of significant contributions in one or more sectors of tourism and leisure
Membership of the Tourism Society is for individuals; many however join either as part of an affinity group or because their companies wish to become Corporate Members. For full details about these and individual membership grades please click here
