The majority of our members join as individuals but we also have a number of companies in membership. The reasons they join vary and can centre on wanting to offer benefits to their staff or wishing to take advantage of advertising opportunities, or a combination of these and others. We have a few basic approaches which are outlined below – these can be the starting point of finding the most suitable arrangement for your company, and we will be as flexible as possible so that everyone is happy.

Group Membership

The Tourism Society offers discounted group membership to organisations.

The package includes a minimum of five memberships to assign to selected members of your staff, who each have their own individual membership account set up with personal log in details. You can add any number of members up to a total of 10, all at the same discounted rate per person, though the minimum rate equates to five places.

The basic cost is £440 - a saving of £110 over the standard individual membership rate for the first five members.
Additional members (up to 5 in total) are £88 each - a saving of £22 or 20%.

The group organisation receives a separate listing towards the front of the printed annual membership directory, and each member is treated as an individual with benefits including:

  • Free subscription to the Society's regular journal 'Tourism'
  • Annual printed membership directory, which contains all members’ contact details
  • Access to the members-only pages of the website www.tourismsociety.org
  • Discounted tickets to Society events
  • Access to members’ discounts including money off subscriptions to trade magazines, health plans, holidays, hotels, text books, currency exchange, marketing and many more!

Corporate Partnership - Silver

Corporate Partnership - Silver is aimed at tourism businesses that want to raise their profile in the tourism field, enhance their networks and take advantage of a straightforward way of providing memberships to a number of staff, to help with their professional development and as recognition of their contribution to your organisation’s work.

There is a range of benefits which can be configured to suit each Corporate Partner’s requirements. A typical package could consist of:

  • 2 complimentary tickets to the Society’s Annual Dinner
  • 5 complimentary tickets to other Tourism Society events (except Tourism Symposium)
  • five individual memberships to assign to selected members of their staff, who will have an individual membership account set up and be entitled to all the usual individual membership benefits
  • branding on our homepage and on all our member communications, showcasing you and your brand as a Society partner
  • your promotional materials to be made available to delegates at every Society event
  • ¼ page colour advertisement in the Society's annual Membership Directory
  • ¼ page colour advertisement in each edition of the Society's journal (currently three per year)
  • a separate, prominent listing with logo in the Society's Membership Directory.

The Corporate Partnership - Silver Package is agreed for two years and costs £1,000 p.a. The exact make-up of the package can vary and will be agreed after talking to you to determine the best combination of the elements described above.

Corporate Partnership - Gold

Corporate Partnership – Gold will appeal to businesses keen to link to a wide range of stakeholders. The Society can help provide a useful platform for this, for example with a dedicated event or session devoted to your company’s agenda. In addition, by including up to 20 complimentary memberships for staff, we recognise the importance of an employer’s being able to offer a fringe benefit connected to personal and professional development.

Each of your selected members of staff will be given an individual membership account and be entitled to all the usual individual membership benefits. Each Corporate Partnership - Gold package can be constructed to complement the company’s needs and could look like this:

  • a complimentary table for 10 at the Society’s Annual Dinner
  • five delegate places at the annual conference
  • 10 complimentary tickets to other Tourism Society events
  • a fast-track to Fellow membership for leading team members
  • guest speakers at events and key signature occasions
  • branding on our homepage and on all our member communications, showcasing you and your brand as a Society partner
  • your promotional materials to be made available to delegates at every Society event
  • profile on our website to promote your brand and key activities
  • separate, prominent listing in the Society's membership directory
  • ½ page colour advertisement in the Society's annual Membership Directory
  • ½ page colour advertisement in each edition of the Society's journal (currently three per year)

Company Partnership - Gold Package price: £3,000p.a, signed up for two years. The exact make-up of the package can vary and will be agreed after talking to you to determine the best combination of the elements described above.
