Latest news from TMI

TMI Recognition Recognised

Universities with TMI recognised tourism management courses can, since September 2013, cite this in their Key Information Set (KIS) returns .  TMI has now been accepted as an accrediting Professional Statutory or Regulatory Body (PSRB) by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), which collects, collates and approves the KIS data which universities publish on their websites and in promotional materials.

Dr. Phil Long FTMI MTS, former Head of CPD for TMI, said: “This is excellent news.  Being accepted onto the list of accrediting Professional Statutory and Regulatory Bodies will raise TMI’s profile amongst universities across the UK, and should encourage more programme leaders to apply for recognition as a means to demonstrate the value of their tourism courses, and to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive undergraduate marketplace.”

For the up to date list of higher education (HE) providers offering TMI recognised undergraduate or postgraduate courses visit the TMI website. The HE providers have demonstrated that the courses meet the criteria set out in the TMI Recognition Scheme for Tourism Courses in Higher Education.
